  BREAKING DOWN THE BASICS. A wide selection of single session classes are available. Ranging from classic techniques such as Knife Skills or Stocks & Sauces, to cuisine specific classes like Mexican Street Food or Hearty Soups. These hands on workshops are designed to broaden the culinary horizons of any at-home chef.  Classes are taught by Dave Swanson (Chef/Owner) and Jarid Bacon (Chef/CSM). Advanced reservations are required to attend.

Each student receives a textbook, chef coat and apron. The course culminates with a Graduation Dinner in which the students prepare a 4-course meal for their family and friends alongside the Braise chefs.  Fall semester registration will begin in June. I'm ready to enroll. Where do I sign up?

Great, we're happy to have you with us! To sign up, follow these steps:

1) Click the shop tab, or click here
2) Select the class you would like to take. Detailed class descriptions are provided by viewing an individual class listing. 
3) Select the number of tickets you would like to purchase for the class. Click "add to cart."
4) Complete the form's mandatory information. Click "add to cart."
5) To register for another course repeat steps 1-4. If you are ready to checkout, view your cart in the upper right hand corner and click "checkout." Follow the prompts to complete your purchase.

We do allow for classes to be purchased as gifts. Simply check to box saying "yes" and add the recipients name.

How do I sign up for the wait list?

If the class you wanted to sign up for read "sold out," we have reached our classroom capacity. We do have a wait list available for every class. To sign up for the wait list, follow these steps:

1) Click the shop tab, or click here
2) Select and view the class you were interested in taking. 
3) Scroll down to the form that says "Wait list." 
4) Complete the form's mandatory information. Click "submit."

The wait list does not require a down payment to secure your spot. As soon as a space becomes available, we will contact you to confirm your space. We also encourage you to enroll in another class that piques your interest.

How long is a typical class?

Most classes last around 2 hours. Semester at Braise classes last 3 hours.

 

Can My Child Attend A Class With Me?

Yes, children can attend classes. Each guest must sign a waiver for hands on classes therefore, a parent of guardian needs to sign for any person under 18 years of age. 

 

What If I Have Dietary Restrictions?

No problem, we are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Please let us know ahead of time so we can prepare accordingly.  

 

Can You Reserve The Culinary School For Private Classes?

Yes, we offer hands on or demonstration style private classes. We will work with you to design the class topic of your choice! If you are interested in booking a private class please email dining@braiselocalfood.com

Is It Possible To Make A Dinner Reservation After Attending A Class At Braise?

Why, certainly! We recommend making the reservation ahead of time. This way we know you are in the building and will have your table ready for you when class ends.

 

How Do I Purchase Tickets To A Culinary School Class?

Tickets can be purchased on our website. If you would like to purchase tickets using a gift card please email info@braiselocalfood.com or call 414-212-8843. 

 

is the school handicapped accessible?

Yes, we have a handicapped entrance on the west side of our building. Please notify us when you purchase a ticket to a class.
