Chef Tyler Sailsbery is passionate about real food and where that food comes. In his quest to educate and encourage local farm to table seasonal eating habits he has had numerous recipes published, taught various classes and appeared on the Food Network and Wisconsin Foodie. Tyler owns two restaurants in Whitewater each with a different flair.  Much of his culinary passion and inspiration come from being raised on a farm and eating simple foods in their natural state.

The Black Sheep started in 2012 as a black sheep of sorts in Whitewater with an emphasis on farm to table. Something at the time not available in the community.  They continue that trend doing things just a bit differently than the rest often with unique plays on classic dishes. The menu and specials are updated regularly to incorporate fresh, in-season, local foods presented in a deliciously new way. Try poultry, fish, pork, gluten-free, and vegetarian entrees and, of course, their featured lamb entrees. They keep the menu small because they care deeply about the freshness and quality of their food. The menu changes based on the season and the availability of foods at their peak freshness. Chef and owner, Tyler’s philosophy has always been providing quality environmentally sustainable food, support the community, and provide education whenever possible.

In 2015 Tylers desire to provide unique and local food to a more casual and price sensitive consumer Tyler competed on Food Network and started Casual Joes offering a unique twist on BBQ.
